The Inn on Mount Desert

Really lovely overnight stay here in a family room. Friendly & welcoming service. Breakfast being provided was a welcome surprise. The hotel is in a nice spot & our room was great, clean & with comfy beds. Highly recommended. We especially love that it's a family run business & not a big chain

The Inn is very clean and very well kept. Walls look freshly painted and the bathrooms are fresh. There is a sitting room with fireplace, freshly cooked breakfasts included, and a billiards room. They also have a washer and dryer available. The room is spacious with a patio to sit and have coffee. Excellent location to shops and Acadia.

We traveled to Bar Harbor for a few days in mid October to tour the area and visit Acadia National Park. Because we booked so late in the season we struggled to find accommodations, the Inn on Mount Desert had one room left. A double queen bed on the 3rd floor. The Inn was easy to find, it sits right off Mount Desert road, one main road flowing into Bar Harbor. There is a large parking lot offering free parking which is a plus. A large garden sits alongside the parking lot, which must be beautiful during the summer months. The Inn has an elevator, nice help, especially with luggage. The room was a nice size with two queen beds, two chairs and a table, TV and cabinet, coffee station with a small pot and packaged coffee along with creamer and sugar, sink in the main part of the room with a separate room for the tub/shower with toilet. Breakfast is included, offering two hot entree's per day, one being eggs with a protein and the other being waffles or pancakes served with fruit and a yogurt. There are bagels and muffins, breads to toast along with cereal. Coffee, tea and orange juice. Some of the staff were friendly while others were struggling to work through their shift. The location is the best feature of the Inn, sitting only a few blocks from Main and Cottage Streets, allowing you to walk around the town to shop, have dinner or ice cream in the park. The coast line is the main feature once you are downtown. The rooms are very pricey, ours in excess of $550/night, for dates in season. This is most likely the average price during October, I just think the condition of the room (older looking and not well maintained) didn't warrant the price charged. Overall, not a bad stay.

Stayed for one night between Acadia and our trip south. The service was fantastic! The room was great and had a small balcony. We could easily walk to everything in Bar Harbor. Breakfast in the morning had a small muffin/bagel station along with made-to-order station that had one savory option (cheesy scrambled eggs) and one sweet (waffles). Service for breakfast was also excellent!

Could not recommend this place enough! The cutest little Inn. It was super clean, check in and check out was a breeze, the breakfast in the morning is made to order and delicious, and it's in an amazing location - few minute walk to downtown Bar Harbor where everything's happening (and no need to struggle for parking!) and right around the corner from Acadia. Made our time in Bar Harbor even more special!

I really liked the hotel. It felt more like a cottage. The breakfast is made to order and it changes everyday. Only thing going bad was that I got a little hair in my eggs one day so they remade it. I got expired yoghurt the next day but I politely informed them. Other than that, I enjoyed the overall stay. The location is also very convenient to enjoy bar harbour walk.

Magic stay on the heart of this very beautiful town. A place full of history that my wife and I loved to support and experience. Large and well equipped rooms, very charming and gives you the idea of being in a house from the last century. Cozy lobby, small gym at the basement and free parking lot at the back. The fact of this hotel/house having elevator is something that we very much appreciated since traveling with large suitcases. The breakfast was à la carte, fast served and tasty. In the meantime there are snacks (mostly cookies) available up for grabs in the lobby and complimentary water

We had a great off-season stay here. Loved all the little touches including the decor, the complementary snacks in the lobby, and the breakfast. The room was surprisingly large, and felt very cozy, clean and comfortable. The front desk also left a treat for us for our anniversary. Great service!
